About the arms
The upper arm has two main muscle groups on opposite sides of the bone. The biceps, on the front, bend the elbow and turn the palm up. The triceps, on the back, straighten the elbow, and their long head also crosses the shoulder, which is why the position of the arm changes how they are loaded. The forearm holds the muscles that bend and straighten the wrist and close the hand.
Arm exercises follow those actions directly: curls to bend the elbow, extensions and pushdowns to straighten it, and wrist work and loaded holds for the forearms. Presses and rows use the same muscles as helpers, so the arms rarely train entirely on their own.
