How to do it

  1. Place one stable kettlebell on a level surface with room on either side.
  2. Take a plank position with one hand gripping the handle and the other palm on the floor.
  3. Brace the trunk and bend the elbows to lower the chest.
  4. Press explosively to move the upper body laterally across the fixed bell.
  5. Switch hands so the opposite hand grips the handle and the free palm lands on the floor.
  6. Settle into the new support position and perform the next push-up before switching again.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the lower back sag during the press.
  • Flaring the upper arms straight out to the sides.
  • Losing a secure hand contact when landing.
  • Allowing the kettlebell to tip or travel during the switch.
