How to do it

  1. Stand tall with the feet about shoulder-width apart and both arms reaching overhead.
  2. Rise slightly onto the toes if the drill includes that reach, keeping the knees long.
  3. Snap both arms down while sitting the hips and knees into an athletic quarter squat.
  4. Land on the whole foot, knees tracking over the toes, chest controlled.
  5. Hold the stacked landing for a beat without letting the knees cave inward.
  6. Stand and reset the overhead reach, then repeat for the prescribed reps.

Common mistakes

  • Landing stiff-legged with almost no hip or knee bend.
  • Letting the knees collapse inward on the stick.
  • Turning the snap into a jump so the drill loses the deceleration.
  • Rushing the reset before the landing is quiet and stacked.
